Hi all. I turn my heaters on, hot or cold and get nothing at all.. Completely dead. I have changed the fuse and the relay works fine for the other units it supports.. But literally get nothing if I turn the fans on.. I would test to see if live is going to the unit but not sure what wires I'm looking for.. Likely to be the heating unit? Any help to what I can check please? Thanks Justin

Take the panel off at the rear of the engine compartment, and you'll be able to see the fan assembly and the two wires going to the motor.
The connectors are small lucar types, so pull them off, and either connect a 12 volt battery directly to the motor, or connect a 12 volt 21W bulb to the wires and see if it lights when the fan is turned on.

Hi, right so found the connections.. Linked fans directly to battery, one of the fans whirred around briefly but only for a couple of seconds, now nothing. Fuse okay, have checked for a live from the wires and only get a live when the fan is switched to 4.... Nothing on 1,2 or 3?? And when on 4 fans still don't work?! (They do look a bit corroded and would have not been on for a few years) Even though there is a live to the fans.. Does this mean it's both the fan needs replacing and the resistor? If so do you know where resistor is located and how to remove the fans out? Do they drop down behind the dash?! Really appreciate any help, detirmined to sort! Thanks in advance. Justin

Update - i realise the blowers do actually fit out, so they just lift out in to the engine bay and i think the resistor is just underneath the blowers and can be replaced easily. Feedback on if anyone agrees it sounds like the blowers and resister, due only getting a live when heater on setting 4 only”¦ would be appreciated. Cheers

"One of the fans"? There is only one.
Motor is held in by a large spring clip around its body, which is easy enough to remove and replace, once you work out the technique. Resistor pack, on facelift models, is accessed from the LH side of the heater box, behind the glovebox area.
A duff (seized) motor will quickly destroy a resistor pack, but most are easily restored if lubricated properly.

I meant the unit which has one dark coloured and one light coloured fan on either side. only one was going around. But thats great thanks”¦ Mines a pre-facelift model so would i be looking in the same area. As alway thanks for you help.
