I've got the Old Ford syndrome; when the indicator flashes the brake light (and other lights) fade to compensate - this is a pain if the lights are on with your foot on the brake, as it makes the indicators speed up.
I've looked at the loom and can't see any major issue, and from looking at the wiring diagram the earths for both rear clusters are joined before grounding under the back seat, but it can't be the ground point if the other cluster works fine (can it?).
Anyone got any ideas? I've bodged another earth wire on for now, but it's not ideal.
Bad earth - left rear light cluster

Poor connection at the light cluster multi plug or the steel tracking within the cluster.

These rear clusters are definitely the weak point on these cars - the design is atrocious.
