I bought these ones and am very happy with them. They are apparently OEM but without the BMW branding.

Just fitted this 'able-goods' set from ebay, posted from Germany, very happy!

One on the left is the old one, on the right is the new one

It really is very simple, just jammed the circlips off with a screwdriver then pushed them back on when the strut is fitted. The struts will be extended as the horseshoe will be open!!

'Able goods' versions on mine now and work perfectly. Easy fit, too. :)

the c clips were ridiculously hard to get off. I would suggest removing the top c clips first (as more accessible), then freeing off the top of the strut, wiggling it a bit top give more access to the lower.

please tell me how you replaced the c clips as mine look a bit mangled and I doubt I'd have the patience to get them on even if they'd go on anyway.

anyway job done and tonneau stays up 8)
