Just changed my wheels from 17" running 215/40 profile tyres.
Never had any rubbing issues, even with a fully loaded car.
But after swapping for the 15" Mim 1900s with 205/55, I'm getting rubbing noises from the rear right wheel.
On inspection it looks like the outer edge of the right tyre is catching the arch.
It seems to do it more on hard acceleration & turning left.
Touring is lowered, but as mentioned before, never had rubbing issues since replacing the rear trailing arm bushes a couple of years ago.
When I took the rear right wheel off, to see anything obvious, the only thing I noticed was the rear sway-bar link rubbers are all cracked.
Could this be causing the rubbing?
I have got new Bilstien shocks & H&R springs to go on soon, along with new upper mounts all round.
Any help would be much appreciated...

15" BBS back on, went for a quick spin, happy to report that all is well.jmc330i wrote:The Et13 Mims will be 11mm closer to the arch compared to the standard et24 15" BBS. I don't know if 11mm may be enough to cause a rub on a lowered car.
I think 50 profile tyres instead of 55, maybe a better option for the 15" MIMs...
Will be overhauling the suspension very soon...

50 profile and rolled arches
