How the hell do you remove this piece of carpet?!! I've removed the 3 obvious plastic nuts, but it's still not feeling like it'll budge any time soon?!

I presume that isn't your carpet in the pic., since that's already removed.
There are two pieces of thin plastic in the wells of the luggage hooks, hiding screws. Flip the thin plastic out (there is a notch for a small screwdriver) undo the screws and remove the hooks.

Thanks! Removed last night, the small plastic covers in the hooks just shattered though! Even with a pick just gently wiggling them out...

They do break easily. Warming them with a hair drier/hot air gun would have helped.
