Hello again.

I unlocked my car using my remote fob. The indicator lights flashed as normal but then the right side (all 3) stayed on. I tried locking and unlocking but they still stayed on. Indicating left works but indicating right doesn't.

After about 3 hours it just started working again but I want to check/fix anything that needs it.

So I think that the indicator stalk is ok as the problem arose from me using the remote fob. I'm guessing there's some sort of relay but having a quick read up makes me think it's the one behind the steering column and so would do both sides- so why would the left still work.

Can anyone help.

Warren.

Sticking relay or 'build up' on the relay's contacts in the immobiliser module. Can probably be sorted easily enough, if you know the hot end of a soldering iron from the cold.

Excellent.

Ill research where the module is and get going on that. Im fine with a soldering iron, infact in about to re-solder a remote fob to try and get a second one working (as per another post of mine).

Thanks again Brianmoooore.

Hello again Brianmoooore.

The right indicator stuck on again yesterday. Could you tell me where the immobiliser module is please?

Just to clarify, this always seems to do it when i unlock the car with the fob. The lights flash to signify that the cars unlocked but the right side stays constantly on. The left indicator works (flashes) and makes that click clac noise under the steering column, but the right does nothing - well i get one click and then nothing. When i try and turn on the hazard lights, they dont work either and we get two constant lights on the dash (not sure about outside the car). If i leave the car for some time, it either turns off on its own or i can fix it by unlocking and locking the car again via the remote - but i have to leave it a while.

Thanks so much for your time. Im gradually getting the niggles on my car sorted.

I think ive also located a good BMW mechanic thats been with them for some years, maybe he can help.

I can tell you where it should be. If it has an OE BMW alarm it should be loose behind the glovebox area, tucked into the wiring. If you have an OE BMW approved alarm, it should be on the LH inner wing under the bonnet.
If the immobiliser is aftermarket, or was fitted by a dealer who was feeling creative that day, then it could be anywhere.
