Went to get the engine number, pulled the lever on the passenger side footwell and nothing happens, no clunk and bonnet won't open. First time I've tried to open it since bringing the car home.

How do I get round this?

Thanks

if you look through the grill on the passenger side to the left of the headlamp you will see the bonnet latch, there is a fail safe built into the latch , you can use a long flathead screwdriver to open the boonet
M40 rightness if you can get to 6000rpm noone can hear your tappets

Get someone to pull the lever while you push down on the bonnet, just to the side of the pass lamp as said, it probably just needs cleaning with WD40 and then oiling

Remember if you open it with a screwdriver, make sure you don't keep your head near the grille.
