I have a 1990 320i SE with 45mm front struts, I've got hold of some 51mm fronts but can I use the calipers/discs that I have or will I need to buy 325i specific ones? The wiki isn't very clear on this so could those that have swapped over please enlighten me?
Cheers

The 320i has the same brakes as a 325i and didn't they have the same 51mm front struts?

The struts will bolt in perfectly fine. And your pads and discs will bolt up fine.

As I understand. 320i's came with bigger struts and vented brakes if it had ABS?

Zone Wiki wrote:On the plus side, it shares the same larger 51mm struts and vented front discs as those models, while Touring and Cabriolet models will have rear discs as well. All models were fitted with front and rear ARBs.

Thanks mate.
The wiki isn't 100% accurate as I have 45mm on the front of mine (non ABS) this is why I'm clarifying the brake fitment.

I'm sure only cabs had 51mm struts as standard.

Are the 320-325 front callipers the same? Wiki states that there are only 2 types 6 cylinder engines & the 4 cylinder ones. Is this correct as I'd like to pit vented discs on the front if it's possible.

Solid discs and vented discs require different calipers.

Cabs, tourings, 325i and 318iS all came with 51mm struts, vented front brakes and rear discs.

But I think only 320is came with the above if they had ABS.

Ok, that's cool. I'll buy everything separate & build the front struts up off the car.

Maybe the wiki should be changed?
