Swirl pot

Anyone here use a swirl pot for the fuel supply on their 325i? I bumped into someone a while back who raced in the pbmw series who used one due to fuel starvation because he was using the standard fuel tank. I didn't get a chance to look at his set up. Any advice?
Not a purist.
