Hi Guys, im sure this may have been asked before, apologies. The alternator on my IS has bitten the dust, can i replace it with one from an m40 engined car / will one off an early m42'd e36 fit?

alternator will fit from an m40 but you will need to swap the drive pulley over from the m42 one .
