Oil spewing and high pressure?

Alright lads, i haven't been driving the e30 much lately but there has been a persistant oil leak/spew from the carb.. I had a lad test drive it today and he said there is way too much pressure and the oil is coming from an outlet that the air filter connects to?

He said it was a pretty big problem so just looking at what people think, how much it would cost to get it fixed etc

the outlet on the top left of the engine block is where the oil is supposedly coming from!

Sounds like the piston rings have gone and pressurising the sump forcing the oil out

My very first E30, over twenty years ago, was one of these, and when it was delivered to me it was spewing grey sludge out of every possible orifice, and all over the floor. All that needed to sort it was a good clean up and a new head gasket (in spite of it already having had one recently fitted).
By "top left of the engine block", I presume you mean the connection to the rocker cover?
Sounds like you may have too much of a problem to be this, but check that there hasn't been a build up of sludge under the rocker cover where the pipe is. If oil is held here by sludge it will be forced into the pipe by the natural crankcase ventilation.

So remove the rocker cover of the engine block to determine if there's any 'sludge' undernearth? the person who test drove pressumed it was from the connection of the rocker cover was the air filter was taken off and the oil landed all the way onto the fuse box cover.. he also said this is likely to be the cause of the problem i have of restarting the car once its warm! cheers bud
