What diameter struts do I have

Hello,

I'm planning on changing the suspension on my 318i (H reg) and not sure of the strut diameter..

Am I right in thinking they are 45mm??

Is it a standard saloon (45mm) or a Touring/Cabriolet (51mm)?

If your 318i is a saloon,the struts should be 45mm.
If,however,your 318i is a touring or a cabbie,the struts should be 51mm.

However,after more than 20 years and several owners,the only way to be sure is to take one to pieces and measure it...and we have heard of cars with one 45mm and one 51mm strut!
