got to get these parts tomorrow for the weekend
going to change the timing belt as the water pumps noisy and ive no idea when it was last done
ive been looking up the prices and just a few things im not sure on
How many pulleys do i need to replace, G+swed list just the 1 tensioner(2 types) but euro car lists 3 (adj pulley, large tensioner flat and small tensioner roller)
I know you normally fit a tensioner but do i need to get all 3
Lastly do i need a geniune belt or are some of the brands they list the same as the original

there is 1 idler at top and 1 at right hand side ,the tensioner to renew ,whilst there blow out and clean cam spray bar .3 8 mm bolts hold it down.

well tbh im getting a mate whos a mot tester/mechanic to do it
( i chickened out) lol
he just said get the bits for me, "get a belt and a pulley kit"
so i dont know as there are 3 pulleys listed on the G and Swed website if i should get all 3
weird that Euro only list one
i guess the other bit about blowing out the holes he would know about hes a top mechanic , is that bit a known thing that should be done?

well tbh im getting a mate whos a mot tester/mechanic to do it

well i guess hes been doing cars everyday for about the last 30 yrs so i wont be telling him his job ! lol
they are pretty cheap,the adj one is the most but the others are only another Ԛ£20 so i think ill get all 3
still not too sure about the belt if i should find a gen BMW one or if a aftermarket one is ok.Dont want to get a non gen one if they are no good,might end up snapping knowing my luck

well gates are good if you can get one at your local autoparts type place
but euro kit should be ok .dunno how much diff in price at dealers .but if not tensioned correctly doesnt matter what belt is fitted.it IS required to tension this properly -spring balance type tool,not sayin your guy aint competent but i wish i had a tenner for everyvehicle brought to me and told .....soin so done this and now this is wrong......lol
if your happy with other work and has good rep no probs.....just some idiots out there.
