Just been informed that the exhaust on my E30 has caused it to fail the MOT. They are quoting £480 for a pattern part, im thinking I could get a stainless steel one for that or a bit more. The garage to their credit are saying the part they can get is not great quality and will only have a few years life so seems like false economy to me.

Not really looking for power gains or sounding like a boy racer, just looking for a quality system that will last

Cheers

There are loads of cheap pattern ones on ebay which will get you at least a couple of years for far less than the thick on of £500.

I assume yours is a 325i going on your sig picture. Is it a 2 or 3 piece system? A pattern rear box from a supplier called ETS on ebay is less than £50 delievered from germany.

ECP \ GSF also do pattern ones cheaper than quoted providing you are happy enough with mild steel.

2 box but the problem with some aftermarket systems require you to chop the twin downpipes to mount the new box. The garage my car in with is not up to that they just want to bolt a new part on with no messing about.

I did find a Jetex system but it is Aluminised Steel which only has a 18 month warranty. I want to fit and forget.

Any decent places in Kent to supply and fit a stainless one?

I ended up with a Blueflame exhaust for £386. Looks and sounds great.

The backbox is not mounted properly? It's sitting on an angle in the pic?
