hi there
anyone changed a headgasket on 316i M40 engine,if so any ideas on costs for the parts and if you can get away with just the gasket or you need head skim and bolts etc etc.its got some oil in the water and a misfire so sounds like a head gasket.how long a job for th ediy mechanic too?>

Gasket's about Ԛ£20 and will depend on how quick you are.
It's best to change the bolts as well as they stretch but i've re-used them in the past. As for the re-face it'll depend what it looks like once the head's off.
There is NO nucleus.
