erratic rev counter

My rev counter jumps all over the place and its winding me up...am i rite in thinking this could be faulty SI batteries? Thanks.

It could be down to those, or a loose connection somewhere.

Ive had a realy good check and cleaned all the plugs and terminals matey, so it must be those batteries. Now i dont mind watching someyhing do a crazy dance but not when its my rev counter haha. Do you know what batteries are the best for it?
