Hi
I was thinking about putting larger wheels on my 325 how big should I go.I was thinking about 16s does 17s cause problems with handling?I think 17s look better but I dont want to compromise handling also how wide should I go without rubbing arches

Generally, 17's fit but they really mess up the handling on an E30 - 16s are a much better compromise.

It's important to keep unsprung weight as low as possible.

The ideal width for a tyre is as narrow as will handle the power of the car. Tyre width doesn't figure at all in the calculations for grip, and the wider the tyre, the more power it will absorb, slowing your car, even more so when it's wet.
