No, you need to swap runners over, which means cut and weld.

Here's how I did my e21: chopped out sill sided mount boxes, mocked up e30 seats by bolting seats onto tranny tunnel boxes, worked out the new hight of sill side boxes then cutdown, welded in and braced for more strength.. Modifying carpet to fit height reduced sill sided seat boxed was the shitty bit!
