Hi,
ABS has never worked on my car since ownership, checked sensors and the relay, even swapped the ecu for a known working one. still not resolved. The Break pedal has always been hard to depress, much harder than other E30's that I have owned and reading on other forums this can be also be related to a ABS problem? I have a spare known working pump ready to swap. Am I barking at the right tree? and if so douse anyone have any hints and tips on swapping them out?
Thanks
Faulty ABS pump and hard pressing pedal?

I doubt if the ABS pump is at fault, so the first thing to do is to try and sort the ABS as it stands.
What does the ABS warning lamp do EXACTLY, from when you turn on the ignition to after you have driven away?

stays on constant. I have checked all 4 sensors and there giving a variable Ohm reading when the wheel is being spun. Its pre facelift so checked the fuse wire in the silver relay next to the ecu. I Broke A E30 that had a fully working ABS and kept all the bits from it.. so used the ECU of that and it made no difference. only thing left is the pump its self and i have read elsewhere that if you have hard to press breaks this can sometimes be the ABS pump?

Light on all the time won't be a sensor fault. They aren't tested until the car moves.
Try changing over the relays under the cover on the ABS pump.
