I want to buy a set of lowering springs. What would everyone recommend, 30mm or 40mm?
I use the car for work and there are load of speed humps which isn't such a problem but I sometimes have customers in the back of the car.
When I bought the car, it was already lowered, I changed the springs because when I had people in the back, the rear used to scrape over the humps. I don't know how much the previous springs lowered the car by.
I definitely want to lower the car as I have bought a nice set of 17inch wheels and I don't want the car looking like a 4x4 as it does now.
Thanks everyone.

Any advice would be much appreciated.
I know there is little difference between 30mm and 40mm but that 1 cm could be the difference of clearing a speed hump or ripping my exhaust of lol.
Thanks

My old e30 on 17's with a 55/60mm drop on unknown springs. This cleared all types of humps even with 2 passengers in the car.
But when i put the 15's on it wasn't as easy going over the humps but looks way better. I found on the 17 all that was happening was the arch gap was lesser but the car didn't look any lower.

Ever thought of 15's with a 30/40mm drop. I would never do 60mm-looks good but undrivable on any size alloys.

Hi there
Thanks for the advice.
I have bbs 15s at moment and I've already blown over £800 On 17s so they are going on no matter what. When I bought the car it was lowered, but I don't know how much. When I had people in the back, the exhaust would scrape over big humps and there are plenty round here.
Would 30mm be enough then?
Thanks for the advice.

Sure someone with more knowledge will be along to help you on lowering on 17's .
Good luck.

No worries mate, I wouldn't hold you to that even if you did.
Did you add any sort of camber adjustments to the rear?

No adjustments, springs were already on the car when i got it but do remember spacers of some sort when I swapped them.
Also message a Mod and ask them to move this to BMW CHAT perhaps, would get quicker responses in that section.

ok, i just want to be able to adjust the camber at the back as they cant be adjusted as standard and my wheels are suffering from uneven wear. I know there is a kit you can buy that can be welded on but thats too much work for me. Nuts and bolts im fine with but welding no lol.
Thanks again for your advice.
