I got it done just before my last MOT. Decided to go with the BMW preshaped lines and all in cost me about 300 squid including labour.
Need ramps really IMO.

The metal pipes are about £20 each from BMW - there are 2 plus the breather
8mm rubber "unleaded ok" fuel hose from Halfords or similar is fine in the engine bay
Its do-able with the car on axle stands - I did mine all ok - just fiddly to replace the engine bay rubber hoses.

The hardest part is getting the rusty screws undone on the clips. No point replacing the breather, just let it vent at the tank end like prefacelift cars.

just done this today, a very sad job when the screws round of or snap, if your lines are corroded the above will no doubt apply,
pre-bent fuel lines from the dealers are almost £65 a pair

All i need replacing is the metal pipes under the car, with me doing the rb25 conversion the rubber pipes in the engine bay are all brand new. You probably think why didnt i just get this done at the time but, at the time i didnt budget for the pipes. Theyre not massively corroded but will need changing at some point.

$20???? I'll must meet your dealer!
Just watch the clips, the break easy.... that's why I paid to get it done.
