Does anyone know how to remove/unscrew the arial from an '88 320 cabriolet??

It is one of the flexible short ones, and some **** has snapped it off at the joint just above the wing. I have bought a new one, but there appears to be no nut or bolt on the inside of the wing, just the piece of plastic with the lead coming out!!

Am I suppose to twist the base on the outside of the rear wing? there are no flats on it that I can see to locate a spanner on to, and the lack of arial is now starting to annoy me :o

any advice much appreciated!

cheers

Martin

It will tighten from the outside of the wing, as you are replacing anyway use some masking tape on it with grips.
Go carefully as it may be corroded.
Worked for me.
