does the tell tale light come up on the dash?

it may be the switch itself that is at fault, it easily cleaned with some contacr cleaner though and happened to be the problem with mine

i havent put the bulb in the cluster yet tbh,

i think the switch maybe at fault as when i changed over the switches and put my lights on full. the rear fog light is constantly on. but can be turned on/off when on dipped lights.

need to get hold of another switch now and give it a try

id give cleaning the switch a try, the switches are very very robust and normally just need a clean.

You should be able to unplug the switch and bridge the wires to make the lights come on, to confirm that it is the switch.
