i have a 1988 convertible 320i. my fuel pump packed in so i got the unit out of the tank to look at the pump. it was a bosch 0580453019. now the problem is the replacement pumps i got are supposed to be direct replacements but they dont look right and they are shorter then the original. i got one from german and swedish and one from an online bmw parts place that showed my pump but delivered what is supposed to be the updated version. please please help .......

original pump vs updated pump Image

which out of the two new pumps are correct or if they are both wrong where can i bye the right one from at a good price???
thank you

Only thing I can suggest is get some crimp connectors and a bit of pipe for the time being to get the car on the road if you are desperate.

Take the pump to your local motor factors and match it up.
