Can anyone tell me whatÔš's involved in refreshing the shift bushes on my newly acquired E30 325i?

At the moment itÔš's really sloppy across the gate (3inches!) and its just nasty to drive. Any help on what needs to be done, what parts I need and how long it will all take would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Nathan

Check out the 'Articles' section mate, a good guide in there to freshen up your shifter.

I already read this, but it doesn't tell you how to freshen it, it just says, I did it but haven't repoted it here, which is why I was after more detail,

cheers

Hi sorry to use your topic but i am doing the same with my 25i. my gearstick moves about three inches but only to the left (to 1st & 2nd) the other way has resistance (not as much as a mates one) and so does the reverse gate bit. is this just the bushes or is it the gearbox?

try the stealers for the parts they done a nice deal for me because i bought the lot inc new shaft and bushes plus selector complete. i was a happy bunny when i left.

Also intrested in time it takes to do

Thanks
