Does anyone know if the VIN is stamped in the bodywork anywhere other than the scuttle panel under the windscreen?
Need urgent advice as the car is being re-tested tomorrow and no dealer or bodyshop would re-stamp the VIN (scuttle panel has been replaced).
Thanks

Not stamped in the bodywork anywhere else, but stamped into a plate that should be above the back of the RH headlamp, and, on later models, on a label on the engine ECU.

Not so. A riveted on plate is sufficient.
The M.O.T. Inspection Manual Issue Date 01 January 201
"5. Check that the vehicle is permanently displaying a legible Vehicle Identification Number. This can be either: · on a VIN plate secured to the vehicle, or · stamped or etched on the vehicle body or chassis."

Do you still have the old scuttle panel?

The only thing I can suggest is that you beg, borrow or otherwise acquire a set of number and letter punches and stamp it in somewhere.
I don't know the details of the Irish version of the MOT, but consider stamping it on a separate sheet of steel and MIGing it to the shell.
