Any tips on getting dashboard switches out without wrecking the dash or the switch e.g rear wash wipe ones?

Take the stereo out - you can then push them out easily.

Most stereo cages have metal tabs on them that are bent up or down into the dash it's self to keep it secure. Bend them back again and the cage should come out. Just remove the stereo though, not the cage too!

I took the clock out and pushed the switches through from behind. If you push the clock in my car sideways it gives enough space to pull out - no special tools.
