Hi
Can anyone help with the following two questions.

1. Does the front half of the driveshaft on a 320i use the metal balancing ring (fitted next to rubber doughnut) as per 318's, or does it not need one?

2. Which side should the gear linkage rod be fitted drivers of passengers? (rod that connects bottom of shifter and gearbox)

Many thanks

1/ The ring can be removed and disposed of on any E30. It was only required with very early doughnuts; all of which will have long expired.
2/ Rod fits in from the LH side (passenger in UK), with the retaining clips on the right.
