I've found that one of the bolt heads on the dizzy cap has broken off. I want to replace with a new cap.....question is, should I remove one of the screws from the new cap and just slide it over the stub sticking out ?
i can't get enough purchase on the stub with pliers to try and screw it out.
Any ideas ?
cheers

Not ideal, but it won't be the only M20 in the world running like this!
How old is the cambelt? The piece with the broken stud has to come off for a cambelt change, which would be an opportunity to seriously try to remove the broken bold, or replace the whole alloy piece.

I had to smash the cap off mine because one of the bolts was stuck.
The stud that was seized into the timing cover then broke off when I tried to undo it.
Secondhand timing cover sorted it
