Hey i've got my old engine sitting in the garage and i was thinking of building a 2.8 out of it. But instead of forking out tons for new piston heads and conrods was wondering how many miles could they go thru. dont want to buy second hand 320 rods that have seen 150,000 miles + and they're almost gaga. Also i might just need to buy oversized piston heads anyway i'm not sure not looked in depth into the 2.8 yet.

as long as the bronze bush in the rods is ok then the rods will last forever.
they function below the fatigue limit of steel so can never break under "normal" operating conditions.

pistons can only be judged by measuring the actual pistons you intend to use.
