Hi All,
Can any speed sensor fir or is it specific to 2.5 or 6 cylinder engine, any diiference, i need a long term replacement as mine keeps failing after soldering back together.

All E30 sensors are the same.

The fault maybe with the wire from the sensor into the car, they are known to corrode badly.

iirc this wire can be replaced by cutting the wire from the headlights on a breaker (the plug is the same)

failing that, if it is the sensor, i was quoted 20 quid for a new one from the dealer :)

Do you mean the plug from the diff housing outwards is the same as the headlamp socket plug? If so, i should be able to get one easily. Let me know if you get chance.

Yes, the speed sensor plug is the same as the one on the headlights.

Iirc its the blue plug from the headlight that fits.
