So i am outside working on the car now, and have stripped the car to find whats causing all the soggy footwells . . .

Image

Yesterday i was inside the car whilst a friend poured water over the car. It was coming in two places. The first was out of the bottom of the heater box bit . . .

I think i have sorted this with some silicone round where the blower motor sits and the foam seal. Tested with hose this morning and doesnt appear to be leaking

The second leak comes down under the glovebox, see this picture where i have drawn a red line where the water flows and pools at the bottom.

Need to sort this now as the carpet is dry and need to get it all back together for work tommorow :)

Any one near leatherhead fancy popping over i can supply much tea and biccys :)

Any help much appreciated

Agam thats almost certainly coming in through the grommet where the main engine loom comes into the car.

Undo the 2 nuts you can see in the pic and you'll see where I mean - get your mate to pour water on the outside for verification.

If you're very lucky the grommet may just have come out - the fact that there are no brown stains where water has been running down is a very good thing - however you really do need to check this area out carefully and you might indeed find that its gone crunchy.

Good luck !

How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

My hands are fucked, my soul destroyed! but the carpet, is dry and back in the car! possibly the hardest job ive had to do ever on my own! The car is leak free spotlessly clean and fixed all the little problems, broken bulbs, tidying loose wires etc in the process! Happy lad now, thanks to all that helped
