yeah its left handed thread mate, you will need a viscous fan removal spanner. these can be bought at motor factors quite cheap.

no need to remove the rad!! some can be a bitch if theyve been on for a while.... put the viscous spanner on the nut and hit the end with a hammer to shock it off, left handed of course :D

Sometimes you have to wedge a pry bar between the nuts on the water pump pulley just to stop it spinning if it is stubborn.

I hate viscous clutches, they are a stupid design
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

The ones that have been since the car was made or in the hands of "quality" garages are the easy ones to remove. It's the ones that have been attended to by some back street garages and enthusiastic DIYers, who have torqued them up to 200 lb.ft and added a bit of Loctite for good measure that are the problem!

Fine, if you have an engine that leaves no room for a mechanically driven fan, but electric fans are orders of magnitude less reliable than a viscous set up.

Yup, I found out this weekend that my aux fan for the A/C wasn't working, god knows how long it had been like that but I'd hate to think what would have happened if that had been the only fan in there.

Turned out to be nothing more than a bad earth but it was a bugger to find.
