ive been reading up on a few rack conversion threads and the more im reading the more confused im getting as in each thread theres someone with another way??

i found the thread below and ive decided to follow that and get the parts listed

http://r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=66247

i should be okay on most of it but the thing which im baffled with is the steering knuckle my one looks nothing like that in pics i just checked the wiki and the pics dont open up bigger so i cant really understand what im looking at, could i not just use my current e30 one?

i get it up until " You need to drill 2 holes 45mm apart and another 2 holes 50mm apart. These sets of holes need to be offset by 90 degrees."

ive got an m4016 so ive got space near manifold...

one other thing, ive read there are tracking issues( bump steer) and to centre the rack, on the wiki it says 14mm spacers exact so should i use 7mm spacer on the tabs bottom and 7mm on top?

last one hoses.. the rack ive bought comes with a high pressure hose which im bending to fit, but aside from that can i reuse the rest of the e30s pipes and hoses for the install?

cheers peoples

btw im fitting a rack from a 98 318ise

It would be better to use a guide based on a RHD car

14mm spacers on top of the rack, you will need to re set the wheel alignment afterwards

yeah i know its pretty much the same just lhd, its pretty simple tbh i was just lost last night looking at different threads all day yday and confusing myself! okay thats cool 14mm,

ive figured out the hoses, an pipework

i still dont get this bit of modding the knuckle.... You need to drill 2 holes 45mm apart and another 2 holes 50mm apart. These sets of holes need to be offset by 90 degrees.

so i need to drill 2 holes into? and theres a silver disc on the wiki did that come from the e36 knuckle...

the disk needs to be made up I had an engineering company make the disk and spacers for me cost me £15. Try and find the zip file the full size picture's are in there along with a diagram of the disk with measurements. I found it using Google or someone on here may have a copy. Alternatively I think there was someone on here making them up ready. Try doing a search of the forum

oh right i think i get it now so i bolt the upper uj and lower uj via this adaptor and it also spaces it out, okay cool, yeah i tried opening the pics but there way too small and the writing is almost impossible to make out, the zip file is also a dead link,
