Hi all, I was replacing the fuel lines on my 325 feed and return but notice there is another pipe which starts from the edge of the fuel tank near the seem making its way along the outside of the chassis (the other two run along the inside with a brake pipe) cutting across the front of the chassis rail and joining the other two pipes.. trouble is it seems to be just free floating and not joined to anything, it must be there for a reason surly ?
Any help apperciated .
Ta
Steve.

It's part of the vent system, there should be a rubber hose on the end under the bonnet, just poke the rubber hose into one of the holes in the reinforcement to the passenger strut tower

If you had emissions equipment on the car, the hose would go to a carbon filled cannister, and another hose from that would go, via a solenoid valve, to the inlet manifold.
The unused plug for the solenoid valve can be found hanging off the branch of the engine loom that goes to your air meter, and the connection for the hose to the manifold is under the throttle body, close to the throttle position switch and must be blanked off with a rubber cap. A missing cap here contributes to poor idle and hesitation on many an E30.

Where did you get the fuel lines, dealers?
How much were they if you don't mind me asking.
Paul.
Cotswold BMW, I bought them early last year, I think I paid about 35/40 quid for them delivered.
Steve.
I replaced the fuel lines on my e30 recently. Bought direct from BMW dealer. Pipes come shaped so just a straight relpacement with no problems. Price was
Fuel feed line £17.98
Fuel return line £15.33
Fuel vapour line £12.22
Vat is on top of these prices.
