Hiya everybody, can any help me, i have bought a 1987 e30 325i sport which I have just finished restoring, at the mo it is completly standard. I want to get the car chipped but dont know which one to go for (superchip? cheap chip of ebay?) also any other mods that would make the car a bit more nippy? plus if any 1 has any 17" alooys which will fit that model let me know. Cheers

What is the throttle body? Does this need to be replaced when adding the chip? What do these chips retail for?
THE THROTTLE BODY IS WHAT REGULATES THE AMOUNT OF FUEL WHICH IS RELEASED INTO THE CYLINDERS, THE BIGGER THE BODY THE MORE FUEL YOU GET CAUSING BIGGER EXPLOSION RESULTING IN MORE POWER.
A CHIP IS NOT ALWAYS NECCESARY BUT DOES HELP COMPLIENT IT, IT WILL MANIPULATE THE TIMING OF THE SPARK WITH THE ADDITIONAL EXTRA FUEL

sorry thats not totaly the corect explanation...
the more the TB is big , the more air you can get in , the more fuel youcan then diliver to get a good explosion, but the main thing being geting more air in....
A bigger throttle body doesn't necessarily supply more air, as ultimately that's governed by the AFM...
