Wrong dizzy cap? Help needed

Folks,

Won this at the time bargain from ebay for my 86 325i engine. Mechanics gone to fit it and he said its for a 4 cylinder! Could this be the case based on the serial numbers?

My car is currently running the old motronic to be converted to 1.3. Could that ensure it fits?

That is misdiscribed item. He says he bought it for his 325i sport and never used it? Well he never would of done cos it ain't ever gonna fit a 325 of any description. Or any e32 for that matter.

It's a four pot cap.
