adjustable dip beam E30
Moderator: martauto
My adjustable dip beam are not working from the dash switch on my E30 Team design. They are in the position assuming that I have a heavy load in the boot, so my drive view on dip beam is very restricting. What work/parts are required.

The only repair to get the adjustable system working again is to replace the whole lot in the last diagram, or to convert to an electric system using modified E34 or 36 parts.
To get you lights pointing permanently in the correct direction again, you don't need any parts. Screw out the threaded steel rods from the centre of the hydraulic cylinders a couple of turns or so (coarse adjustment), to bring the aim to within the range of the fine adjustment, that is the knurled knob around the outside of the cylinders.
