wiring a 2.8 into a e30

hi all a couple of years ago i put a 2.8 in a compact ive seen sense since then and bought an e30 and am gonna do the same when i put the engine in the compact all i had to do was plug the ews box in behind the glove box and use the same key chip and transponder out of the 2.8 im told that e30's dont have an ews box if anyone know's how to bypass the ews and the coded key would be a geat help thanks justin

If you have all the EWS components, why do you want to bypass it? Fit the receiver and antenna to the E30, and fit the chip in an E30 key.

or if you just want to get it working you can just fit a ews somewhere hidden in the car and stick the chip to the sensor so it is always made.

I'm told that the socket the ews box goes in In an e36 isn't there on an e30

EWS is just a single wire between the ews 'box' and the ECU. The only other thing the 'box' needs is an earth, 12 volts ignition switched live, and it's antenna loop plugged in.
