I had never though of this upgrade but now the mind is ticking...my pop outs have probablu only been opened half a dozen times in the last 16 years!! Too much of a PIA but leccy would fix that.

This is a great mod to do....

I used the parts from an E36 coupe(1995)

You need everything from the popouts on the e36, including the loom, switches, plugs, motors, brackets, ect.

This is a good time to change the front switchs to the e36 ones.

Also you would need to change the console to a moordoor one with electric windows all round, or cut into yours to fit the extra switches

As for choping in the loom, all you need is the live and earth, which you can take from the front switches. For this just follow the guide on the forum for swaping to e36 switches.

I do have it all written down somewhere, but cant find it. I did this a few years back on one of my other e30s.

They actually fit very good, and work well. Aslong as you take your time and dont boge things up, it will look neat and tidy.

The pain is just the wiring routing.

Also theres a relay for the rear windows, thats located under the dash on the e36 (drivers side)

Theres two there, one comfort relay and one for the rear windows, you need the one for the rear windows.

This should be the wire colours at the relays

Comfort relay...red, red/brown, black/green

Hinged window relay...violet/brown, violet/green, red/brown, black/red, violet/yellow, violet/blue

Also, forgot to add, BMW used to sell a retro fitting kit for the E36, to convert the rear pop outs to electric. Not sure if you can get this still.
