Whats the best spanner and size to remove the blue temp sender in situ. thanks..... :?

spark plug socket did it for me. cant remember exact size

Just found it in andy everett's restoration book... 19 mm steeply cranked spanner ,no room for normal sockets let alone plug sockets. :)

I've used a 19mm open ended spanner to remove the blue sensor.
You have to turn it around once or twice but once the seal is broken you can usually unscrew it by hand after that.

:)
'88 325i M20, could've done with a sunroof.

I replaced mine yesterday, remove the brown sensor and an offset 19mm ring spanner.

Thanks thats exactly what I decided to do .Come on Brian you've never taken it out with a plug socket in situ... :mad:

Never said I have! I was answering a question as asked.
I usually try with an open ended spanner held at an angle first, but if it doesn't move easily, I take the brown one out.
