my e30 318i cab is playin up. firstly my fanbelt snapped which caused it to overheat and for the battery to die. i have since changed the belt and now there is 3 light on in the dash one is the battery light, one is the parking brake light and the other is the exclamtion point in a circle. and ive recharged the battery and it still seems to overheat and the battery dies. HELP.

Hi, silly question, but is the belt the correct tension? Maybe it's too loose?

Sounds like there's no output from the altenator.
First thing to check is that the altenator is earthing properly to the engine block. Oxidized aluminium can be a surprisingly good insulator.
