Yesterday I replaced the fuel pipe that leads to the injector rail on my 325 Cab, as it has perished and had started throwing petrol all over the place. When I was fitting the new pipe I found another pipe (looks like rubber fuel pipe) connected to a metal pipe that seems to enter the car by the front left wheel arch, but the other end of it is just clipped to the fuel pipe.

The unconnected end looks like it has never had a jubilee clip on it at all. There are 3 metal pipes under the car where the fuel pipe goes and only this one is not connected.

I have driven the car and everything seems fine, no oil problems, no heater problem no fuel problems so a bit mystified as to what this pipe is.

I only replaced 1, as I ran out of time but the other one seems OK, I have the pipe to replace it as soon as I get another 30 minutes.

Thanks for the response though, I was concerned I had pulled it off without realising!
