325 Gearbox conversion from auto to manual advice

Hi there

My 88 325i Auto box has developed a leak but I think it might be a grand opportunity to do a Manual conversion

Question is how difficult is it. Im confident getting stuck in but I have not had much experience doing this sort of thing before so i thought it worth an ask?

Lastly are there any bmw enthusiast in Edinburgh who are up for meeting for a pint?
