My brake light indicator on my service panel, come on although the brake lights are working?

It seems to do it after driving the car for a little while.

Any clues??

Mine does this aswell! If you brake it will randomly bring the check light on. Theres no pattern to it, sometimes its fine, other times it does it immediately!

Just takes a momentary malfunction of the lights to put the warning LED on, and stay on until the ignition is switched off.
Get a mate to follow you in the car and report anything untoward happening.
Check that both bulbs and their holders are free of corrosion.

You do know that the brake light indicator will come on whenever you start up the car? This is because it's the only function on the check control panel that needs human intervention (ie pressing the brake pedal) to prove the circuit. I usually turn on the ignition and dab the brakes immediately. This proves the brake light circuit works and clears the light on the panel.
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is

.

I have noticed that, but even after doing that, the lights will intermittently come on, and as Brian said, they wont go off until the engine is turned off.
Doesn't really bother me, but just curious as to why it's doing it.

This used to happen on mine. Eventually twigged what the problem was after a mate noticed that my brake lights were on constantly. A wee tweak with the adjustment on the brake light switch and it was cured.
