Detachable Towbar fitting instructions

Good morning all,
I have just managed to get hold of a detachable towbar which i am going to fit to my 1990 325i Touring, Does anybody out there have any fitting instructions for this particular towbar setup?, its a genuine westfalia type complete with all the electrics, any help greatly appreciated.
Also, if anyone has a pair of black leather headrests i'd be interested in them too! .

offer it up in position it's quite obvious where it bolts to..

as for the wiring I am sure MR moore will know !

Take the rear bumper off then remove the bumper dampers as the tow bar replaces these just above the holes for the bumper mount the back panel is already centre punched ready to drill and fit the tow bar

thanks for the replies thus far.. It's going to be a few days before i get a chane to fit it. Is the wiring side of things straight forward?, routing and termination points etc??

If you have the genuine wiring loom its plug and play normally

I'll check the wiring out when the towbar arrives, in the meantime, if anyone has some fitting instuctions that they would like to share then please let me know ;)

I`ve got an original one and i had to cut my bumber for the tow ball socket and the wire socket so it could be pushed back up when not in use.

Yeah the underside of the rear bumper needs some cutting for the reasons bimanut mentioned.

I sold a complete setup to 'randomspeedfreak' which I think included the fitting manual - maybe PM him to see if he can help.

I don't have this particular towbar fitted to any of my tourings.
If you don't have the genuine wiring loom that goes with the towbar, I can give you the colours of the wires you need to connect to, and where to connect them.

Many thanks Brian, I was kinda hoping you would come to my rescue eventually I'm away working for another week or so so it won't be fitted till then. It is a genuine article with all the pukka plugs apparently..... I'll keep you posted! Many thanks for the help, Tony

the manual was vauge at best for us,
have a go, if you get stuck pm me ill talk you through it or draw a diagram or something. make sure its all in the right places before you get the drill out!
