silly little just in case but you've undone the small bolt that is countersunk into the disk and sits flush? i.e. the one which bolts through the disk to the hub. otherwise can you wiggle it or is the rear disk totally solid? could be seized on in which case if you've turned the handbrake lever off, removed the small nut, and removed the rear caliper and can spin the disk but not pull it off the try giving it a tap with a rubber mallet to release it.
hope this helps

i agree with the 2lb hammer notion, just take care if you're planning on reusing the disks! you were changing them and not just the shoes below i take it? i remember taking a set off a suzuki swift once and i had to bash them to hell and back to get them off, they were destroyed by the end!

Are you changing the discs?
If they are well worn chances are a good lip has built up on the inside of the inner drums.
As above, look carefully through a stud hole at around about 12 o'clock and you will see a 'star wheel' that you can push the top or bottom of to spread the tops of the shoes. You want to retract them so the disc can slip over the top.
Have a poke about with a torch, you'll see.
Good luck
Chris

There shouldn't be a lip as the hand brake should only be used when the car is stationaryChris wrote:Are you changing the discs?
