hello!
about 10 months ago i replaced the clutch in my touring. the car has an m42 engine conversion. i have been driving the car everyday and i do give it a bit of stick from time to time. it developed, what i would recognise as, clutch judder.
from cold it is fine, but as the engine warms up and i use the clutch more it starts to judder really badly. if i am in traffic it is aweful. the car judders loads as the clutch pedal is being released.
i though it could be engine mounts but after fitting new ones its still there. if anything the newer engine mounts make it worse as they seem to be a bit softer than the originals. so i have put the old ones back on for now.
i really cant be arsed to pull he cluch out again and see whats going on in there so i was hoping someone here might have had the same sort of issue and overcame it somehow. long shot i know!
oh yeah i did the slave cyliner too when i had it all apart.
hope someone can help!!
thanks
Darragh

possible oil contamination? was there any oil in the bell housing/discolouration on the old clutch friction plate? gearbox input shaft could be leaking into the clutch?
crank seal leaks tend to miss the clutch spinning clear of it off the back of the pressure plate.

yes there was oil in the bell housing but i thought that was all from the rear main seal. so i replaced that while the box was out. i did nothing to the box apart from just give it a little clean up.
is it quite common for the box oil seal to leak onto the clutch?
i cant really remember what the old friction plate and pressure plates looked like now as it was that long ago...
