Loss of power every so often

Every so often my 325i sport struggles for power. It's a really intermittent problem but happened again the othr day. Put your foot down and she just does not have the power. It's like the fuel is not getting into the engine. I have been told that the fuel line is rusty and will need replacing at some point. It's not the head as I had a new gasket fitted about 1k ago. Any thoughts?

theres a sensor of some sort my freind had a similar problem on his e39 not sure if its relevant to e30, 02 sensor i think? air flow mass sensor... somethign like that

or could just be fuel lines as you said,
