hi all - can any headrests be used in the back of the car? Also, is any kit required to fit them to a cabby?

yes back are the same as the front, a headrest fitting kit is required, this can be bought from bmw for about £19.00

What, if any, is the difference between M3 and normal E30 headrests ?

Convertible and M3 one's are stitched and the rest are piped IIRC
